Int-Arb Arbitrators is now officially open and announce the arrival of their first members.
Members include highly regarded arbitrators David Cairns, Calvin Hamilton, John Judge and Janet Walker. The list also includes international mediator Jane Player.
Whilst the members practices remain international, their address will be London’s premier destination for alternative dispute resolution, the International Arbitration Centre (IAC), 190 Fleet Street.

Int-Arb Arbitrators are pleased to announce our first members David Cairns, Calvin Hamilton, John Judge, Janet Walker and Jane Player.
More names will be released during the next six months. The organisation will accommodate those seeking to eliminate conflicts and step into an independent framework. Members will receive a fully serviced headquarters and committed management team focused on providing professional business support, marketing and development services to complement their practice.
The five members, all with strong professional pedigrees, have considerable experience of resolving substantial international disputes under all major arbitral institutional rules, in a variety of seats across the globe. Each has a blue-chip professional background, is highly regarded by the leading legal directories and has occupied leadership roles in their respective fields.
We offer clients who are seeking to appoint an arbitrator or mediator, a diverse list of options and a guarantee of independence without conflict, all supported by a team with close to 40 years’ combined legal management experience. Int-Arb Arbitrators will assist firms and lawyers to find the most appropriate arbitrator/mediator for their dispute.
The IAC’s chief executive, Owen Lawrence comments: “I am delighted to welcome our inaugural members who share our vision and see the need for what we have created in the market place”.

The management team is completed by managing director, Sam Carter, together with Demi Robinson as the list’s practice assistant. Both Carter and Robinson have extensive experience obtained from commercial and common law sets.
Carter said: “We are delighted to announce our first names, this is just the first step in developing an extensive network of arbitrators and mediators. Our members are internationally recognised, with experience in substantial disputes under all key institutional rules and ad hoc hearings, across a variety of seats. It also allows the parties an opportunity to provide both suitable and wide-ranging recommendations, linked to their choice of arbitral centre”.

David Cairns
David is a leading independent arbitrator based in Spain and London who joins Int-Arb Arbitrators after spending over 20 years at leading international arbitration law firm, B. Cremades y Asociados in Madrid, Spain. He is qualified in England & Wales, New Zealand, and Spain.
He specializes in Investor-State, construction & engineering and commercial disputes. He has acted as a sole, chair and party appointed arbitrator under ICSID, ICC, AAA, LCIA, WIPO, Court of Arbitration for Sport, Court of Arbitration (Madrid) and AdHoc arbitrations, in a variety of seats ranging from New York, Washington DC, London, Madrid, Miami, Paris.
David is fluent in Spanish and his common law lawyer background provides a good understanding of both common and civil law approaches.
John Judge
John is a well-known and established independent arbitrator based in Toronto and London. He joins from 39 Essex Chambers in London, having previously had over 35 years of counsel practice in commercial disputes at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto.
He has sat as arbitrator and chair on substantial international disputes under ICC, LCIA, ICDR, SIAC, BCICAC and AdHoc rules in a variety of seats including New York, Paris, Canada, London and the Middle-East.
His experience as arbitrator covers a wide range of substantial domestic and international commercial arbitration disputes including engineering and construction, investor state, Insurance, mining, oil & gas, telecommunications, transport, banking and finance.
Janet Walker
Janet is a reputable international arbitrator based in London, Toronto and Sydney, and is a professor at Osgood Hall Law School a member of the Ontario Bar, and a licensed legal consultant of the New York State Bar. She joins from Outer Temple Chambers.
She has served as sole, presiding and co-arbitrator in ICC, HKIAC, ICDR, DIAC, SIAC and adhoc arbitrations in a variety of seats. Her expertise ranges from construction, environmental and heavy equipment, through to M&A, shareholders, IP and finance disputes.
Janet is English speaking and has good written and oral comprehension of both French and Spanish.
Calvin Hamilton
Calvin is an independent arbitrator based in Barbados and London. He joins Int-Arb Arbitrators with more than 35 years of international arbitration experience. He is a dual national of Guyana and Spain and is admitted in New York and Madrid.
He has served as sole, chair and party appointed arbitrator in large disputes under ICC, ICDR, LCIA, and UNCITRAL rules, in a variety of seats ranging from New York, Paris, Spain, London and Caribbean. His extensive experience includes technology, automotive, banking and finance, manufacturing, real estate, construction, energy and natural resources including oil and gas and renewable energy.
Calvin is English-speaking, fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and Portuguese.
Jane Player
Jane is a leading international mediator based in London, formerly a partner at King & Spalding, co-head of the International dispute resolution group and head of London disputes team at Bird & Bird, and DLP Piper LLP respectively.
Her mediator focus lies in corporate and contractual disputes including fraud, major projects, pharmaceutical, energy, and technology, IP and media.
Jane speaks French, Spanish and Italian to varying degrees.
